Jessica Shafer is native to Rochester, Indiana and has been a small business owner of Mixed Medium Design since 2016. Her fascination for computers at an early age was the blossom to her passion for design and art, paving the road to where she is today. Jessica studied Studio Art at Indiana University in Bloomington and Indiana University South Bend. Jessica also works at the local music store, The Record Farm.
By focusing on Graphic and Web Design, she creates projects like logos and business cards, websites, advertising, signs and flags, decals and stickers, and apparel along with mixed medium projects. She is able to provide custom and professional design services to those local and nationwide.
In addition to her love for design, Jessica Shafer and photographer Shelby Lopez founded Digital Wolf Network in 2018; a media entity that includes Digital Wolf Magazine and Digital Wolf Podcast. Whether you prefer to read or listen, the focus is on art, community, and collaboration while highlighting the inspiring unique abilities and contributions of creative individuals from all walks of life.
A large part of Jessica's interest combines community work with design. She volunteers her services for organizations such as Fulton County H.O.P.E. as a Web Designer and creates occasional flyers, as well as art liaison for the Community Art Project. She remains a huge advocate of supporting local, collaboration and building others up in the community with art and design.
I am a strong believer in community over competition and find that collaboration is key. It’s easier to build an army of support to help each other, than it is to fight your way to the top alone. Collaborating with other creative locals and working together as a community inspires me and is what supporting local is all about. Taking that knowledge and experience and transforming that into something in your own creative way brews passion. My passion is design.
As a designer I want to show off these creative and unique businesses in our community. I do this by creating art and providing a service where all design needs are met, whatever the occasion may be, from making a business stand out to event promotions.
I take pride in creating one project that can be used in multiple mediums and design for print or placement. I love watching one of my logos I’ve designed be turned into a wall decal or a 3D product, like the Round Barn Lab design.
